Structure of the National Reference Centre for Toxoplasmosis

The National Reference Centre, coordinated by the CHU Reims, is comprised of four poles:

Epidemiology Pole:

  • Updating of epidemiological data and epidemiological studies in collaboration with the InVS (National Health Monitoring Institute)
  • Contributing to the evaluation of the national screening programme and implementing a congenital toxoplasmosis monitoring programme

Case notification

  • Contributing to the creation of prevention recommendations
  • Contributing to alerts
  • Helping health professionals (diagnosis and care)

Strains Pole:

  • Molecular epidemiology
  • Chemosensitivity of strains
  • Contributing to alerts (epidemics and resistance)
  • Helping health professionals (diagnosis and care)

Serology Pole:

  • Contributing to the development, evaluation and standardization of immunological diagnosis techniques
  • Contributing to the evaluation of the national serological screening programme
  • Helping health professionals (diagnosis and information)

Molecular Biology Pole:

  • Contributing to the development, evaluation and standardization of molecular diagnosis techniques
  • Helping health professionals (diagnosis and information)
