Quality assurance

CNR Toxoplasmosis

All the member laboratories of the CNR Toxoplasmosis seek quality assurance and all of them drafted their procedures according to the GBEA (French programme that has drafted Good Practices Guide for Medical Biology Analyses). Their accreditation process is currently underway according to ISO standard 15189 for molecular biology and serology.

The Coordinating Laboratory and the three Associate Laboratories are in the active phases of accreditation and have obtained quality guidelines under the responsibility of a Department Manager and a Quality Manager; they must undergo external quality evaluations, particularly for serological diagnosis of toxoplasmosis: CQN ANSM and European control (QCMD) for the molecular biological diagnosis of toxoplasmosis.

All of the CNR member laboratories participate in the national quality control for molecular biological diagnosis of toxoplasmosis (Molecular Biology Pole).

Biological Resource Centre Toxoplasma

The Biological Resource Centre (BRC) Toxoplasma was created in 2002 to preserve, in strict rules, strains of Toxoplasma gondii and its derivatives resulting from Toxoplasma infections in humans or animals.

Its implementation benefited from grants collectively supported by the French Ministry of Research, the CNRS and IFREMER.

The strains and its derivatives are stored in cryobanks located in the biology department of the University Hospital of Reims (France).

The BRC Toxoplasma is certified according to the standards ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 20387:2018.

Strains can be delivered for public, private or industrial researchers under precise conditions and are identified by a publication code that must be cited in its entirety without modification in any publication that would use them.

The BRC Toxoplasma must be explicitly acknowledged in these publications.

Each request is submitted to the scientific committee hat examine the project. Its advice is necessary before to confirm the availability of the aliquots.
